Auntie's Bookstore is located downtown on the corner of Washington and Main. With the store situated near the Convention Center, Riverfront Park and the Davenport Grand Hotel, parking can occassionally get a little tricky. Most people find open spaces in the nearby lots, garages or parking meters. To help prepare you for a trip to the store, we've provided some information on this page. If you want to plan your trip around events happening downtown, check out the links listed below:
Metered parking is available all around our store and throughout most of the downtown area. The meters are checked by the City of Spokane between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Street parking is free from 7:01 p.m. to 7:59 a.m. Monday through Saturday, all day Sunday and major holidays.
Many of the city's meters now take debit/credit cards and the new Quick Pay app. If you are disabled and have been issued a state permit, you can park at city meters for free. The only exception to this rule is if you are parking at a two-hour meter. Two hour meters have a limit of four hours for disabled parking and a sticker attatched to the meter will indicate this exception.
If you have found one of the few meters that is only accepting coins and do not have the Quick Pay app, feel free to come in to trade bills for quarters.
Lot Parking & Garages
There are numerous pay parking lots near the store and several parking garages. If there are special events downtown at the Opera House or other nearby attractions, many of the lots near the store charge event parking prices and you may want to plan accordingly. The Liberty Building, where Auntie's is located, sits on a pay lot owned by Ampco and the newly built Grand Hotel parking garage is acoss the street from us on the East. If Auntie's is your main stop for the day and you can't find metered parking, these are your two closest options near the store.
We are now offering curbside pickup. When you're parked outside our store, give us one more call and let us know what kind of car you're in, and we'll bring your purchase to you. We recommend parking on the East side of our building where a passenger loading zone is located (across from The Grand Hotel parking garage entrance).
