Big question for biographers: how to get it just right? Layiong out the facts in an informative and interesting way, entertaining the reader while keeping it real (avoiding unsubstantiated embellishments) seem to be the beginnings of an answer. By way of an extraordinary amount of research, a true gift for rendering engaging prose, and sticking to the above guidelines, Mr. Spitz has nailed it. Big book, but definitely worth the effort. Especially if you're a fan of "the lads."
